Still My Soul, Be Still

A few years ago Anna and I sang a song that has been a comfort through many of the hard trials of life. And now I want to share it with you as a reminder not only to myself, but to all of us that we MUST depend upon God's strength alone to get us through the rough times and the good times in life. All that goes on in life is simply for one purpose and one purpose alone, and that is to bring God all of the glory.

Still my soul be still, and do not fear though winds of change may rage tomorrow. God is at your side, no longer dread the fires of unexpected sorrow.

God you are my God, and I will trust in you and not be shaken. Lord of peace renew, a steadfast spirit within me to rest in you alone.

Sill my soul be still, do not be moved by lesser lights and fleeting shadows. Hold onto his strength, with shield of faith against temptation's flaming arrows.

God you are my God, and I will trust in you and not be shaken. Lord of peace renew, a steadfast spirit within me to rest in you alone.

Still my soul be still, do not forsake the truth you learned in the beginning. Wait upon the Lord, and hope will rise as stars appear when day is dimming.

God you are my God, and I will trust in you and not be shaken. Lord of peace renew, a steadfast spirit within me to rest in you alone.

God is often reminding us of His strength and peace that He gives us daily, throughout His Word. We must heed these reminders so that we do not flounder through life, depending on our own week and pitiful strength that will not last.

"Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the Earth fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of His understanding.
He giveth power to the faint; And to them that have no might He increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint."
Isaiah 40:28-31

"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise Him.
The Lord is their strength, and He is the saving strength of His anointed."
Psalms 28:7-8

"The Lord will give strength unto His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace."
Psalms 29:11

"The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Psalm 23

"He shall feed His flock like a shepherd: He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young."
Isaiah 40:11

"Fear thou not for I am with thee: Be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
Isaiah 41:10

"Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war with thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.
For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee."
Isaiah 41:12-13

So, as we continue to support Anna as she fights for health and life, and my grandpa as he seeks health and healing, and as all of us live life everyday, may we NEVER forget who created us, and that He will always supply our ever need and more!
